Barber: HIV/AIDS For Licensure Renewal

This 2-hour HIV/AIDS continuing education course is designed for Florida Barbers renewing their license. The course covers essential information about HIV/AIDS, including transmission, prevention, and workplace safety practices to help protect both barbers and their clients. Successful completion fulfills the 2-hour continuing education requirement for Florida Barber license renewal.

As of July 2024, FL Barbers with 10+ years of an "active" license are no longer required to take CE courses. Your license MUST be in good standing with the FL DBPR for 10 consecutive years.

Learning Objectives 

1. Students will understand the difference between HIV and AIDS.
2. Students will understand the various modes of transmission of HIV.
3. Students will be able to identify the different ways to control the transmission of HIV.
4. Students will understand how HIV can be managed and transmission can be prevented.
5. Students will understand the importance of appropriate behavior and attitude when servicing a client with HIV/AIDS, as well as the necessary sanitary requirements.

 Attendance & Course Credit

ATTENDANCE – You can read the material at your own pace. There is no time limit to complete the course. 

COURSE CREDIT – In order to receive credit for this course, you must submit the answers to the 10-question test and attain a passing score of 70% or higher.
