Full Specialist: HIV/AIDS For Initial License
The
primary goal of this course is to inform a Full Specialist entering the beauty industry of
necessary facts as they pertain to HIV/AIDS.
Upon completion of the course, the student will have a general knowledge
base of HIV/AIDS, how it is transmitted, and how to protect themselves as well
as their clients from acquiring the virus in the workplace. This course will complete the required 4
hours of HIV/AIDS course for a Full Specialist to obtain their license or registration in
the State of Florida.

Learning Objectives

Students will understand the difference between HIV and AIDS.
2. Students will understand the various modes of transmission of HIV.
3. Students will be able to identify the different ways to control the transmission of HIV.
4. Students will understand how HIV can be managed and how transmission can be prevented.
5. Students will understand the importance of appropriate behavior and attitude when servicing a client with HIV/AIDS, as well as the necessary sanitary requirements.
